The Luang Say Lodge restaurant, above the Mekong

At the centre of the lodge
The restaurant stands at the heart of Luang Say Lodge, on the riverbank above the Mekong, reached from the bungalows and gardens by wooden walkways. It serves organic Lao cuisine with a full bar, and vegetarian options are always available. A continental breakfast, served from 06:00 to 10:00, and dinner, served until 21:30 (last order), are both included with every stay; lunch is served through the day. Tables are set both on the open-air terrace and under the covered dining room, with views over the river and the forested hills surrounding Pak Beng, the same water guests arrive on and leave by.
Most of what's on the plate grew a few steps away
Most of the restaurant's vegetables are grown organically in the lodge's own gardens or sourced from the villages nearby, and kitchen waste goes back to those gardens as compost. It is one part of a documented sustainability programme that also covers water and electricity, cleaning products and single-use plastic across the property.

A cocktail at sunset
Sunset is the terrace's hour. Guests tend to arrive on it in the late afternoon, take a drink from the bar, and stay through the change of light before dinner.

Breakfast and dinner are included with every stay. The restaurant is also open for lunch, served à la carte, from 12:00 to 21:30 (last order).
