The Lodge

Twenty bungalows above the river

Built in 1998 on four hectares of riverbank, Luang Say Lodge is twenty teak-and-rosewood bungalows in traditional Laotian style, each looking out over the Mekong or the hills behind Pak Beng. Wooden walkways link them through the gardens to a central restaurant on the water.

Getting Here

Getting here with Mekong Cruises

Pak Beng is reached mainly by river. The lodge sits midway along the Mekong between Houayxay and Luang Prabang, and whichever boat you take docks directly at our own landing. Wooden walkways lead up through the gardens to the bungalows. Most guests arrive with Mekong Cruises, our sister company in the same small group, whose downstream sailing spends its one night here.
